Sonia Rykiel for H&M lingerie collection
First it was Matthew Williamson. Then Jimmy Choo. And now high street giants H&M have done it again – collaborating with ‘knitwear queen’ Sonia Rykiel to bring us the most hotly anticipated lingerie collection of 2009.
The seventy-piece range includes smooth satin bras and knickers, nude vintage-inspired bodies, structured, high-waisted suspender belts and sheer bras adorned with strategically placed rosettes.
An Alice in Wonderland-inspired runway show is taking place in Paris tonight, with the city’s Grand Palais being transformed into a ‘fairytale Parisian fantasy’ to unveil the collection. It officially launches on Saturday 5th December and will be available in 1500 H&M stores worldwide, as well as in Sonia Rykiel boutiques.
H&M creative advisor Margareta van den Bosch says “Sonia Rykiel is a true fashion icon who invented a signature style around femininity, Parisian chic and modernity – as well as functional, comfortable, wearable clothes.
This collection is a totally modern, new kind of lingerie look, and when we started to work together with Rykiel on it, we just couldn’t stop”.
